China-Cambodia relations have a long history, and since the 62nd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, there has been political stability and friendly exchanges.
In 2020, President Xi Jinping presented the Medal of Friendship to Cambodian Queen Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk, and emphasized that China will carry on the traditional friendship between the two sides and revitalize China-Cambodia in the new historical period.
In recent years, China has been Cambodia's top trading partner and largest source of foreign investment. According to H.E. Pen Sovicheat, Undersecretary of State and Spokesperson of the Cambodian Ministry of Commerce, the Cambodia-China FTA came into force in early 2022.
